Design of a new identity and online portfolio for Lisa Pram, a Barcelona-based professional photographer.
New identity and online portfolio for Lisa Pram, a Barcelona-based professional photographer. The budget was tight but i had free artistic freedom, provided it be minimalistic in design.
Target audience: art directors & editorial magazines in Spain, using large screens and usually with a good machine on a fast internet connection.
Since all content were actually image albums coming in varying amounts, the main idea behind the identity and the interface was to represent these albums alongside each other, as a vertical rectangle which width would reflect its amount of images: 1 image = 1 pixel. The “barcode” term is well suited to the concept behind the interface: to generate a unique representation of Lisa’s work in a non-metaphorical manner, but rather through indexing of her image sets. With this principle, the entire content became a sort of “interactive barcode”, each album would simply extrude itself inside the barcode when its respective vertical rectangle would be clicked upon, thus introducing the user into the colors and contrasts of Lisa’s work.
Finally, an additional navigation system is laid out underneath the barcode, to ensure that this interface website, although experimental, achieves a good level of usability.
Thank you Lisa for giving me so much freedom, for trusting me on this, and for being such a kewl customer. I wish you the best with your new website and for your professional career.
